Using Recreational Therapy To Help Aid in Relapse Prevention
*This course has been pre-approved by NCTRC for 5 clock hours.
This course will educate on substance use disorders and how Recreational Therapy can aid in relapse prevention through experiential activities focusing on specific aspects of sobriety. In addition, the learner will be provided with mental health and substance use/abuse resources and many RT intervention ideas. At the completion of this course, participants will need to pass an exam with a minimum score of 70%. Participants must complete the course within 365 days of starting the course to receive a completion certificate.
Course Objectives

The student will be able to identify at least 5 common substances that can cause addiction and/or are abused.

The student will be able to identify at least 10 areas Recreational Therapy can aid in relapse prevention.

The student will learn 5 recreation therapy interventions to help aid in an effective RT session for those with substance use disorders/mental health issues.
