The Effects of Physical Activity on Mental Health
*This course has been pre-approved by NCTRC for 5 clock hours.
During this course, the student will gain a more in depth understanding on the benefits of physical activity on our mental health, learn the recommended level of activity for every age group, learn statistics related to improvements in mental health due to physical activity, learn how to apply physical activity to your sessions in a safe and beneficial manner, learn how the APIED process is used to implement RT interventions into treatment plans and see an example of how to do so with physical activity as an intervention. In addition, learners will receive 3 physical activity intervention examples and 2 assessment examples.
At the completion of this course, participants will need to pass an exam with a minimum score of 70%. Participants must complete the course within 365 days of starting the course to receive a completion certificate.

By the end of this course the learner will be able to identify the mental health benefits received from adding physical activity into one's routine.
